![]() ![]() ![]() That is a John Browning design so I would shoot 2 3/4 in buck. A very awkward & poorly designed firearm. My Remington autoloading shotgun is serial # 140xxx, dates to 1912. I'm trying to figure out when it was made and from what I read on a site it stated the first letter would be the month and then the first two numbers would be the year (so mine would be Feb 1979?!? That is if the barrel S/N matches the Receiver. Not marked model 11 anywhere, but does have the "Remington UMC" stamp on the underside of the tang behind the trigger guard. i was able to fix the barrels as April 1941 (CK) and Dec 1945 (XPP). Modern Remington barrels are stamped with a Date/Code, which denotes when it was made.
